Article 370 Verdict Live Updates: The Supreme Court’s five-judge Constitution bench began hearing on the batch of pleas challenging the abrogation from of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir from November 2, 2023. After hearing the case for 16 days, the court reserved its verdict in the matter on December 11.
Article 370 of the Indian Constitution had been abrogated in August 2019. The abrogation resulted in the revocation of the special autonomy that Jammu and Kashmir enjoyed. The government of India, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took this step through a presidential order and a subsequent resolution passed by both houses of Parliament.The revocation of Article 370 meant that the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was removed, and the state was reorganized into two separate union territories: Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
